The David Lashley Membership Scholarship Program
Helping us make a difference in the lives of our youth and families by making recreation accessible.
In order to fulfill our mission, we believe that our programs and services should be available those who need them the most. Thanks to the generosity of the Walmart Foundation, the Club is able to provide financial assistance through the David Lashley Scholarship Program.
To be considered for a scholarship simply fill out the scholarship packet and return it to the Club for review.
Please note that there will be a $5 administration fee for all scholarship applications that must be paid when the application is turned in. If you feel are unable to pay this fee please make an appointment with our Scholarship Administrator to review your situation. To participate in programs, you must have an active membership and fill out the appropriate registration materials abiding by established deadlines.

About David Lashley
A Fayetteville native, David Lashley was born June 2, 1932 and attended Washington Elementary before graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1950. He then went on to be an outstanding student and three-year football letterman at the University of Arkansas. For his entire professional life, besides being a successful accountant, David was the epitome of charitable service, gaining the trust and admiration of his entire community for his reliable, tireless, and unending contributions to his community. His involvements include more than a quarter century of coaching in youth football, softball and basketball, being involved in school booster clubs for 29 years, and associated as a volunteer, officer and member of the Board of Directors of the Fayetteville Youth Center/ Boys & Girls Club for over 25 years. In appreciation of his service, David was named “Honorary Life Board Member” of the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club of Fayetteville. He has also been a recipient of many awards, including the National Boys Club Medallion. This is just a partial list of his accomplishments. He and his wife, Lanell Allen, raised five daughters. We have named our scholarship fund in honor of the late David Lashley because of his outstanding and unsurpassed commitment to our Boys & Girls Club and our community.
