Flag football will utilize a Fayetteville school and grade-based system for player distribution. Practices will begin the week of August 20th. The game season will begin on or after September 8th. All games will be played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Kindergarten and 1st graders will participate in a 5 on 5 league where the coach acts as the quarterback for their team. 2nd-6th graders will act as their own quarterbacks. K-2nd graders will play a 6 game season and 3rd-6th graders will play an 8 game season.
7 on 7 Football
7 on 7 is for players entering 3rd-6th grades. This league will utilize a Fayetteville school and grade-based system and is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of the passing game and pass defense as well as to help with conditioning.
Participation fees cover the usage of helmets; it is the responsibility of the participant to return equipment immediately following the last game of the season. Players receive team jerseys that they get to keep. Practices will begin in late July with games beginning in August. The season ends prior to the tackle football season.
4th grade tackle will utilize a Fayetteville school and grade-based system. If a school has 26 players or more per grade level they could be split into two teams after the coaches from both teams meet with the recreation coordinator to establish an equal division of players. If a school has less than 22 players per grade level they could be paired up with a school or schools that find themselves in the same position.
The 5th–6th grade tackle league will utilize a draft-selection process and will refer to player skill assessments conducted by the coaches and the Boys and Girls Club staff. The mandatory skills assessment will be held at the Boys and Girls Club in mid-August.
Participation fees cover the usage of shoulder pads, and helmets; it is the responsibility of the participant to return equipment immediately following the last game of the season. Players receive team jerseys that they get to keep. All participants are required to have proof of a physical examination that has taken place within the last year. (A current physical must be turned in upon registration.)
Games will begin on or after September 8th and as a part of the Football for Kids NWA League, ALL TEAMS WILL TRAVEL to surrounding communities for games. Parents are responsible for player travel. Practices will begin on or after the week of August 13th. All games will be played on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will utilize a typical 11 on 11 format.
4th-6th graders have the option to play flag or tackle but not both.
